TRX Suspension Training

TRX classes start on Tuesday, February 21st!

TRX Suspension training is a unique, fun and challenging way to build total body strength, balance, flexibility and core stability for people of all fitness levels. Maybe you know or have heard about “Suspension Training”. If not, here is a bit of info to help you out.

Like most of our training modalities at Fitness Quest NW, TRX Suspension Training is another great asset to get a full body workout in a three dimensional format.


In real life, our bodies move to the side, backwards, forwards and diagonally. Shouldn’t we train the same way? Unlike traditional weight training that tends to be linear and follow one plane of movement (sagittal), Suspension Training encourages multiplanar training (frontal, sagittal, transverse) which integrates all your motions and mimics real life movement. This will bring a muscular balance to your body, increasing performance and preventing injuries.

There are many amazing qualities incorporated with TRX Suspension Training, but one of the best is the fact that it is all regulated by the adjustment of your own bodyweight!

The program simultaneously builds strength, improves balance, increases flexibility, and burns fat while you control how easy or hard you work.

As many of you know, Kim and Lynne have been working with me privately with the TRX for a couple of months now. They are deep into many advanced moves and are getting “beyond humanly strong!” Here is a great shot of them working on their single leg hand stand preparing for handstand pushups!

We are offering our first TRX Suspension Training class on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30. Some of you have been introduced to this training already through your one-on-one personal training with me and are realizing its great benefits. I am really excited to bring this program to Fitness Quest NW and look forward to introducing it to the rest of you.
